Capture6 joins Elemental Excelerator’s 12th cohort

Today, Elemental Excelerator, a leading nonprofit investor in climate technology for deep community impact, introduced Capture6 as a member its latest cohort. With this recent announcement, Elemental is infusing an additional $12.5M into climate solutions like Capture6, bringing its total amount of investments to $79M.

Capture6 removes carbon from the atmosphere using direct-air capture technology while increasing freshwater production by recovering more than 70% of clean water from brine. To help scale Capture6’s solution, Elemental will provide extensive wraparound services to Capture6, including carbon finance, sales, social equity, and policy coaching. Capture6 Co-Founders Ethan Cohen-Cole and Luke Shors are currently in O’ahu with the Elemental team.

“A big mahalo to Elemental for welcoming us into the program and for the great support thus far. Excited to connect with the other exceptional startups in the cohort this week in person. The venue on the North Shore of O’ahu is pretty tough to beat!’” – Luke Shors

Capture6 Leadership Team

Elemental has 10+ years of experience across the climate sector, with an active and maturing portfolio of more than 150+ companies. Elemental fills two gaps fundamental to addressing climate change: funding projects for climate technologies in communities, and embedding equity and access into climate solutions.

“This year, we met some of the strongest entrepreneurs in our 13+ years investing, and I am thrilled with the boldness and ambition of the companies in this cohort…These are the innovators who are creating the huge companies of the future – ones that invest in workers, reduce pollution, restore our soils and lower the costs of food and energy.” – Elemental Founder & CEO Dawn Lippert
